Samsung’s R40 is not particularly new, but it stands out as one of the coolest among the Korean’s brand of notebooks.

The Samsung R40 is powered by a 1.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T2300E processor and 1 GB of RAM. The storage capacity of the hard drive is 80 GB. Meanwhile, the graphics is supported by ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200M with 128 MB of video memory.

Samsung R430/R540 Laptops Now Available In The US

Samsung’s R430 and R540 laptops are now finally available for the US customers, via the virtual US retail shelves that is.

Both the 15.6-inch R430 and 14-inch R540 sport a 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of RAM and 320 GB hard drive. Graphics for the two laptops will be supported by Intel’s stock-in-trade GMA 4500 MHD graphics.

The R430 and R540 also comes with a built-in web camera, stereo speakers, a numeric keyboard, 802.11b/g/n wireless, an Ethernet LAN port, three USB ports, HDMI and VGA outputs, and a 3-in-1 media card reader. The two laptops also run with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Samsung has already been toying with the 4G technology since 2006. And now, Samsung is taking the opportunity to show the world that it’s no time to play anymore as they launch the world’s first 4G netbook, the N150 netbook, at the Mobile World Congress 2010.

The Samsung N150 is set to be a revision of the existing Samsung N150 netbook that will be fitted with an upgraded modem from LTE, a Samsung owned company. Looks like Western Digital’s TB hard drives will be facing fierce competition as Samsung has just launched their newest EcoGreen hard drives: the 1,5 TB and 2TB F3EG.

All the new drives from Samsung are the followup to last year’s F2EG. The EcoGreen hard drives impressively use up as little power as possible for a hefty internal drive. It also incorporates a 3.0 Gbps SATA interface, native command queuing features and 16 MB/32 MB buffer memory.

The Samsung EcoGreen hard drives will available in the European and US markets this coming March at a starting price of $179.99.

Samsung wowed the crowd at the on-going International Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas with a prototype of their notebook that has a transparent OLED display.

The impressive notebook from Samsung uses a 14-inch transparent OLED display screen that is when turned off, displays up to 40 percent transparent. And when it’s on, the display can be seen clearly yet you can still see right through it.

Samsung also said that the technology behind the transparent OLED display can also be utilized in other products like MP3 players and advertisement and displays, as well on other notebooks like the prototype.

Samsung will also be soon joining the many manufacturers that are packing their netbooks  with Intel’s latest Pine Trail platform.

Samsung, a Korean brand, is set to introduce their 10.1 inch N220 netbook  that will of course carry an Atom N450 processor. Along with that, it will also be fitted with GMA 3150 for the graphics support. The N220  will also feature 1 GB of RAM, a 250 GB hard drive, b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, a webcam and a six-cell battery that boasts up to eleven and a half hours of battery life. The Samsung N220 will be pre-installed with Windows 7.

The Samsung N220 will retail for about $500.

You only need to look at it once to know that the Samsung q320 is part of the thin and light group of the laptop world. The Samsung Q320 comes with a 2.53-GHz Core 2 Duo processor with a Nvidia discrete graphics chip in a compact, attractive package. The thin and light unit is priced around $929 so it is still quite affordable. It’s a good laptop overall but the bad thing about it is uber short battery life and its multimedia functions could need some improvement.

We have come to a point where the Netbook industry has come to a standstill. Almost all of the netbooks you see right now have an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and a copy of Windows XP, and you’ve got your hands on essentially the same product sold by PC makers such as Dell, HP, and Acer.
