Lenovo has just released another boxy, bland, yet surprisingly good laptop. Dubbed as the ThinkPad SL510, it is Lenovo’s Windows 7 product launch. Like other PC makers, Lenovo is making full use of the 7 launch as a chance to tweak and improve some of the features of there product line, and so it is with the SL510.
The SL510 has a base price of $529, but with that price tag you will only get a 1.8 GHz Intel Celeron T3000 and no Webcam, Bluetooth, or other bells and whistles. But if you buy the $1,024 model, you will get a matte 15.6-inch screen in 16×9, a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and a thick, solid chassis that’s lighter than you’d expect.
The SL510 is fully customizable for 3G, antiglare, and the always popular fingerprint reader. The $1,024 model of the SL510 is basically a a large-screened business laptop that runs Windows 7.
