Acer Launches Aspire Ethos With 5943G And 8943G Models

Acer has introduced another line of notebooks meant for digital entertainment, the Acer Aspire Ethos. And to launch the line, two new models will be offered by the firm, the 5943G and 8943G models.

Both models are equipped with a 15.6 and 18 inches cinema screen CineCrystal supported by ATI Mobility Radeon HD5000. With these goodies the units are sure to deliver stunning visual effects, full 3D, realistic lighting and detail in every image.

Big gifts come in small packages indeed. But in Corsair’s Voyager mini flash drives, its big gigs come in small drives.

Corsair’s new Voyager mini drives come in capacities from 4GB, 16GB up to 32GB of storage. Each drive also comes in traditional Voyager style complete with the ergonomic rubberized casing for an easy grip. However, the mini Voyager drives lose the traditional usable end cap for the retractable connector.

The Voyager Mini drives are now available from the Corsair website. The 4GB version will be retailed for $15, the 16GB for $50 and the 32GB model for $100.

HP is now offering the smallest business laptop in the market, the EliteBook 2540p. This business ultraportable comes with a 12-inch 1280 by 800 display and a powerful core.

Inside the magnesium-fortified chassis of the EliteBook 2540p is a low-voltage 2.13 GHz Intel Core i7-640LM processor and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. This 12-inch wonder also comes with an internal DVD burner. It also has three USB ports, VGA out, an Ethernet port, ExpressCard slot, an SD slot, a Display port and a Firewire port.

Toshiba Unveils 750GB and 1TB Notebook Hard Drives

A pair of new hard drives will be launched by Toshiba, the MK7559GSXP and the MK1059GSM. The new hard drives, which are meant for notebooks, will provide larger storage capacities to the notebooks without sacrificing speed or performance.

The MK1059GSM comes with 1TB of storage, while the MK7559GSXP comes with 750 GB of storage. The 750GB model is the world’s largest 2.5 inch, 9.5mm high hard drive.

Both hard drives boasts a speed of 5,400 rpm and a seek time of 12ms. According to Toshiba, the new drives will be shipped to notebooks manufacturers shortly for testing.

Toshiba meanwhile has not yet disclosed when the new drives will make it to their own…

Asus To Equip Its Entire Range With USB 3.0

Asus has just announced that its entire range of PC lines will be equipped with the USB 3.0 technology. The PC lines will include their notebooks, Eee box and Eee PCs.

The technology firm has also claimed that its motherboard chip, the PLX high-speed transmission, could boost the speed of its USB 3.0 technology y up to 74.38% faster than its major competitors.

Once Asus has successfully integrated the USB 3.0 technology to their products, it will provide 5 Gbps speeds. Although, not all these products will be able to use the top speeds initially as other components within the systems may not be able to adapt to these new speeds.

Alienware is coming out with a new gaming desktop, the Area 51 (Core i7).

Not only is Area 51’s chassis designed to hold a full-sized ATX motherboard, it can also house multiple dual-width graphic cards. At the top, eight chevron-shaped segments are integrated. Seven of these segments tilt up to provide the desktop extra cooling. Also, one of the segments hides the USB and other ports on the top of the PC.

The system has three USB ports, FireWire, eSATA and the headphone/microphone ports at the top. At the back though another set of the same ports are to be found.

AMD 6-Core Phenom II Line Prices and Clockspeeds Revealed

AMD’s newest Phenom II line is set to unleash all its glorious power this year.

Starting up is the second quarter release of the X6 1035T, the X6 1055T and the X6 1075T. The X6 1035T has a clock speed of 2.6 GHz, the X6 1055T with 2.8 GHz and the X6 1075T with 3 GHz flat.

For the upcoming fourth quarter, AMD is readying the Phenom II X6 1095T. The manufacturer though has not yet disclosed any possible numbers for this one.

As for the pricing, the X6 1055T will retail for $199, while the X6 1090black edition will retail for 295.
