Asus’ Eee PC range gets another addition, the Asus Eee PC 1001PX netbook.

The 1001PX will feature a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and 1 GB of RAM. There will be two versions of the 1001PX to be sold, one with a 160 GB hard drive with Windows XP and the other one with 250 GB hard drive and Windows 7.

The Windows XP version will be equipped with a battery pack that could last up to five hours, whereas the Windows 7 version has one that clocks in nine hours.

Sony Vaio E Laptops To Feature Blu-Ray

Sony announces two new laptop models under its Vaio E Series range, the VPC-EA1Z1E and the VPC-EC1S1E. Both models will be equipped with a Blu-ray drive and a selection of Intel Core i3 and i5 CPUs.

The first model, the VPC-EA1Z1E, comes with Intel’s 2.13 GHz Core i3 processor and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. Its hard drive has a total of 500 GB storage capacity. This unit will have graphics support in the form of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145 graphics card with 512 MB of video memory. It will also feature a 14 inch LED display with a native resolution of 1600 x 900.

Recent web news has revealed that HP’s Slate tablet PC will be coming out this September. It has also been reported that the tablet PC will retail for around $540.

Although full specifics are not yet available, the Slate is also purportedly to feature an Intel Atom processor, a built-in memory card reader, a couple of USB ports and a web camera. It is also said to come with Windows 7, and probably Nvidia’s Ion platform for the graphics card.

HP Slate’s major competitor, the Apple iPad, will be launched five months earlier. But as soon as the Slate steps in to the market, it will definitely have its share of followers.…

Kingston has just released what is now being called as the world’s fastest Intel-certified memory, the HyperX dual-channel DDR3 memory kit—or simply known as KHX2400C9D3T1K2/4GX.

The said memory kit acquired its Intel XMP certification in the Intel Core i7 platform, taking the top spot from Corsair.

The HyperX dual-channel DDR3 memory kit has been especially developed for enthusiasts, gamers, and benchmarkers looking to scale new memory heights. However, this superfast memory will not be put to test until the second quarter of this year, when it is expected to be available. Price details have not yet been released though.

Shuttle adds another all-in-one PC to its range with the launch of its XPC X50V2 barebones PC. As such, the XPC X50V2 still need to be installed with its own hard drive and memory.

The Shuttle XPC X50V2 does come with a dual core Intel Atom D510 Pine Trail processor and integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics. It is now also offered with a completely fanless design for silent cooling.

Intel has just launched its own budget-friendly solid state drive, the X25-V.

The Intel X25-V is made to speed up the loading of modern operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows 7, in netbooks and PCs that have a dual-drive system. It has a capacity of 40GB and features sustained sequential read speed of up to 170MB/s and sustained sequential write speed of up to 35MB/s.

Intel X25-V is based on multi-level cell NAND flash memory made using 34nm fabrication process as well as Intel’s controller feature 5-channel parallel architecture. The SSD supports Trim command for performance optimizations. Intel also boasts a 1.2 million-hour mean time before failure (MTBF) for the drive.
