Looks like Western Digital’s TB hard drives will be facing fierce competition as Samsung has just launched their newest EcoGreen hard drives: the 1,5 TB and 2TB F3EG.

All the new drives from Samsung are the followup to last year’s F2EG. The EcoGreen hard drives impressively use up as little power as possible for a hefty internal drive. It also incorporates a 3.0 Gbps SATA interface, native command queuing features and 16 MB/32 MB buffer memory.

The Samsung EcoGreen hard drives will available in the European and US markets this coming March at a starting price of $179.99.
