It looks like Toshiba’s patent claim with the US International Trade Commission will not end the way the company has wanted it to. Toshiba wished to ban Wistron imports in the US. Wistron builds laptops for Dell, Acer, HP, Lenovo and others.
Toshiba claims that Wistron violated its methodologies for touchpad production and file saving when the laptop loses power. Should the ITC decide to investigate, it will still take up to 15 months to settle this matter.
And if the matter result into a settle in cash before any rulings against Wistron is released, it will surely be in a breath-taking amount.
